All of the web sites that we design comply with a number of international standards related to markup languages and web accessibility. All pages are validated using online tools to ensure they meet these standards and are advertised as such.
All our pages are written using the latest XHTML as recommended by W3C. This is the latest version and ensures your pages can be read by as many different types of devices as possible.
In addition to this all pages are constructed in a logical manner using heading tags to structure page content and minimal the use of graphics. This has the benefit of minimising download times and making the pages as accessible as possible.
We use cascading style sheets to define all of our web sites look and feel. This means that web site elements such as fonts and colours can be changed with ease making ongoing management as simple as possible.
All of the text on our sites is designed to be compatible with the text resize function found in all major browsers. This allows the user to set the text at a size that is comfortable for them and is especially useful for those users with poor eye sight.
All images contained alternative text which allow screen readers, used by those with restricted eye sight, to understand the context with which any images are used.
In addition to using XHTML and CSS to construct our web pages we also validate them using online tools provided by the W3C to ensure they meet the defined standard.
We aim to meet level A, AA and some of AAA levels of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. These are international recognised standards on web accessibility.
In addition to W3C WCAG Compliance we also ensure our sites meet the Section 508 standard. This is a government standard enforcing web accessibility, Cynthia Says™ can also check for compliance with this standard.
Our web site is tested on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet the standards outlined above. We make use of a number of online tools which you can try yourself:
